Kate Wood has practiced law, mostly in the area of family law, for more than 20 years. She graduated in 1975 from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Kate was awarded a Law Degree from the University of Calgary in 1990, and after completing legal articles with the law firm Parlee McLaws, she was called to the bar of Alberta in 1991. In 2007, the Minister of Justice for Alberta appointed Kate as Queen’s Counsel.

Co operative Philosophy:

Kate works hard to try to resolve family law matters for clients in a friendly, timely and cost-effective manner. Her goal is to provide clients with the particular legal advice, procedural advice and negotiation assistance they need in their case, to resolve matters effectively without litigation. Parties interested in maintaining a good working relationship with each other after divorce, often for the sake of their children, will appreciate the many advantages of using a mediation, co operative or collaborative approach to settlement. Clients who are interested in settling their legal issues in a respectful, reasonable manner are best suited to Kate's experienced, common sense style of practice.
